Animals that live in a semi-arid climate have adapted to the heat, small amounts of rainfall, and scarce vegetation. Just about all semi-arid vegetation is a moisture retaining plant such as a cacti and tall shrubs. many types of lizards thrive in semi-arid climates , especislly snakes, considering they are cold-blooded. their are also a few rodents that thrive in semi-arid climates by burrowing underground.  many birds also survive by living inside plants such as cacti and thorny trees.
